We Need Your Feedback on A Potential Social Support Initiative!

Recently, we met a non-profit who could help The MRP Project with its mission to provide hope through social support. In a nutshell, it’s another way to let an adult facing a hardship know you’re thinking of them.

Our bags for a boost continue to be a great success. We now have an opportunity to add a twist. But before we move forward with the idea, we’d like your feedback. Read on and then let us know what you think.

Have you ever heard of a pink flamingo flocking for a good cause? Basically, a fundraising entity puts a bunch of plastic pink flamingos on a family’s yard. They leave a note behind for the family explaining they’ve been flocked for a good cause. The family now has to pay $10 to have the flock relocated to another family of their choice.

While this idea isn’t a fundraising effort nor does it involve plastic flamingos, it is a flocking. It’s a flocking of encouragement signs. The MRP Project would purchase 5 yard signs with words of encouragement on them. If you know someone going through a tough time, you could rent the signs, put them on their yard for a day or two, and then bring them back to The MRP Project for the next person to use.

Please leave questions or any other feedback on whether or not you think this is a good idea!

  1. While I think that this is a kind and encouraging idea I think some people are private and may not want the attention that the signs would bring . . . just a thought
