Donor News
We’ve had a surge of items from new donors and we’ve gotten some great things. Books, hand squeeze weights, cozy socks for men and women, insulated mugs, chocolates, kindness rocks, games, and so much more. (Check out the picture above) Thank you!!
Recent Recipients
Our recent bag recipients have included two sets of parents whose college-aged sons recently passed away and a father whose children are both battling serious illnesses. We hope our bags will give them a boost and let them know people in their communities are thinking of them.
New Collaboration
We have some exciting news about a new collaboration that we think will be an excellent addition to our bags.
The MRP Project is teaming up with a group of Hopkinton women who have been helping people facing hardships by writing them hand-written cards with words of encouragement, kindness, empathy, and strength.
Years ago Mary Murphy got a fortune cookie that read “one kind word can leave ones heart warm for years.”
That was the impetus for starting many undercover Kindness Missions ~ all of which include handwritten cards as the focus. The feedback from this initiative has been extremely positive so we’re excited to be teaming up with them! If you’re interested in writing cards for our recipients and others, please contact Mary at mary@hoorayforbooks.com.

Not sure what to say in a card to someone who is dealing with loss or illness, check out this interview with author Emily McDowell who wrote, There Is No Good Card For This: What To Say When ‘Condolences’ Isn’t Enough. https://www.npr.org/2017/02/13/514164179/there-is-no-good-card-for-this-what-to-say-when-condolences-isnt-enough
Thank you for your support of The MRP Project. Together we’re providing rays of hope through social support.
