When your child has a problem, as parents our gut response is to try and fix it. Instead, I offer this suggestion.
Rather than providing solutions or advice, ask questions. Bounce the problem back to your child by asking leading questions. In this way, your child has the opportunity to think through the issue and can come up with good solutions on their own.

Helping kids work out issues on their own is a key to resilience. Want to raise a resilient kid? Join our six-week Raising Resilient Kids workshop for parents, starting on Tuesday, April 27.
