Recently a family member came to my house for a visit. She brought some items for The MRP Project. Included in the items were a few copies of a book she suggested that I read. The book is called Heaven is for Real.
About the Book
It’s the true story of the four-year old son of a small town Nebraska pastor. During emergency surgery, Colton slips from consciousness and enters heaven. He survives and begins talking about being able to look down and see the doctor operating and his dad praying in the waiting room. The family didn’t know what to believe but soon the evidence was clear.
Colton said he met his miscarried sister, whom no one had told him about, and his great grandfather who died 30 years before Colton was born, then shared impossible-to-know details about each.
My Thoughts on the Book
I found the book both thrilling and comforting. After Mike died, I became very interested in reading real accounts of the afterlife from people who died and were brought back to life.
I needed to be reassured that he was in fact in a good place. Of all of the books, this one is the most comforting and reassuring because it’s in the words of a child who isn’t tainted by things he should or should not say. He just says it like it is.
I recommend reading this book and if you want to buy an extra for The MRP Project I’d love to be able to it to bags for people who are grieving a loved one.
