Raising Resilient Kids Educational Series Begins September 23

I’m thrilled to announce the Raising Resilient Kids educational series begins on September 23! This program is the second piece of my vision for The MRP Project!

What’s Raising Resilient Kids Educational Series?

Raising Resilient Kids is a social support program for parents. The goal is to help parents ensure their child can positively and productively overcome life’s obstacles.

The series highlights the essential role obstacles play in children’s development. The facilitators discourage parents from trying to “fix problems.” Instead, we discuss specific behaviors, thoughts, and actions to help children cope with their feelings in a specific situation. These strategies can then be used to help deal with similar feelings in the future.

What Topics Are Discussed?

In the six-week series, we explore the following topics:

  1. The definition of resilience and resilience factors and strategies
  2. Ways to build resilience
  3. Learning from the past
  4. Sensitive listening/responding
  5. Sensitive expressing
  6. Staying flexible and places to look for help

Each class focuses on one topic (outlined above). The facilitators provide time for problem-solving and group discussions. Participants can support each other, share lessons-learned, discuss experiences, and learn from one another.

Stay tuned for updates about this important program!
