I’ve talked before about some of the classes I took about grief. The Children’s Room was my go-to resource where I took these classes. Ironically, in 2013 and 2014, I ran the marathon for this charity in memory of my good friends’ babies who passed away. So, I was very familiar with the invaluable service this organization provides. Their mission is to create safe, supportive communities so that no child, teen, or family has to grieve alone. Their various support-group services are tailored to people who have lost an immediate family member. I highly recommend them. If you have any questions, please visit their website or reach out to me!
Featured donation
Last week I decided to post a picture of a featured item to give everyone ideas of what works well in the bags. I received some feedback this was a good idea so I’ll continue to do it.
This week’s item is an adult coloring book. Even if you’ve never thought about doing this before, coloring could be the perfect activity for someone suffering. I know after Mike died I found myself doing things I’d never done before. I got our family a dog and I went for long walks with her. This was a comfort I looked forward to every day! So, you never know what will comfort you when you’re going through a hard time. Thanks for this donation. I love it!
Update
Three more bags went out last week. They all went to moms who lost their husbands. We were able to fill these bags with some great items for these ladies. Thank you very much for all of your awesome donations.
Thanks for supporting The MRP Project. Together, we’re making a difference by providing hope through social support.
