I hope all of the mothers out there had a wonderful mother’s day. For all of you (like me) who have school-aged kids, this is a trying time. Remote learning at all levels from Kindergarten to college is a brand new experience that we’re all trying to help our kids navigate. Plain and simple…It’s hard!
Some days (like today) I feel like I’m ready to lose my mind! And I have to remind myself to breathe.
I decided to look back at my notebook from the Parenting While Grieving series I participated in. I found the meditation piece that the facilitator read for us during each class. I read it over a few times and it really helped. I was also thinking of recording myself reading it so next time I could just close my eyes and listen.
Try it! It’s just another tool in your toolbox for coping through these strange times!
Breathe in peace…breathe out anxiety
Breathe in patience…breathe out frustration
Breath in light…breathe out stress and all that overwhelms you
Breathe in joy…breathe out pain
Breathe in health and well-being…breathe out worry
Breathe in trust and breathe out fear
Breathe in hope and love…and breathe out all of the negativity you want to release
Now take a moment for yourself, a moment to be grateful for something in your life
Stay well.
