7 Tips for Coping with Loss

One bag will go out this week to a woman who lost her beloved sister. What’s unique about this recipient is that she’s been an MRP Project supporter since the beginning. She’s donated items on more than one occasion! While I’m so sad she’s suffering from this loss, I feel good knowing she’s been nominated for a bag by many different people in our community. We hope our bag gives her a boost.

I feel like I know a lot of people right now who are trying to cope with a significant loss. I read an article awhile back and I really liked some of the tips. I’m sharing them with you today in case you need it. If not, consider sending them to someone you know who may need them.

7 Tips for Coping:

  • Physical exercise along with progressive relaxation will improve sleep and concentration.
  • Keep a journal: write through your sleeplessness and change the ending of your nightmares.
  • Talk to people; talking is one of the most healing activities. It is how we let go of stress.
  • Give yourself permission to feel rotten and have a grieving day. Remember on these days to share your feelings with others.
  • Resist the temptation to isolate yourself. Spend some time with others.
  • Give yourself permission to escape from your new reality and have moments of happiness.
  • Get plenty of rest and eat regular meals even if you don’t feel like it

Thanks for supporting The MRP Project. Together, we’re making a difference by providing hope through social support.
